METEOR ROAD SHOW VISITS THE SQUARE TALLAGHT AS THE COUNTDOWN TO THE METEOR AWARDS BEGINS

This week the Meteor road show visited The Square in Tallaght to remind customers to get texting for your favourite band or artist as the countdown to the 2006 Meteor Ireland Music Awards gets underway.

The Meteor team and the ‘Spinis' were in the Meteor store as part of a four-week nationwide Meteor road show giving the public a chance to get their hands on the exclusive tickets.

The hotly anticipated Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2006 take place in the Point Depot on February 2nd. Public voting in six key categories closes on Sunday 29 th January. Meteor has already received thousands of votes from enthusiastic fans, however the countdown is now on and with only three weeks left to vote for your favorite band or artist it's time to get texting!

Text voting is open to customers of all Irish mobile networks and will be charged at standard text rates. Meteor customers can expect the same low text rates as usual, 9c per text and those signed up for Meteor to Meteor Free Text can vote for free!

Fans can cast their vote by texting ‘VOTE' to 085-7114444 for a list of keywords and categories. Online voting will also be available by visiting http://www.meteor.ie/.  Music fans can vote for short-listed nominees in six categories; Best Irish DJ, Best Irish Band, Best Irish Male, Best Irish Female, Best Irish Pop Act and Best Live Performance.

Everyone who votes by text or via the website will be in with a chance to win the hottest ticket in town - a ticket to this year's Meteor Awards.
