METEOR BLOWS THE COMPETITION OFF AIR AS 2006 BEGINS WITH A BANG!

On Tuesday, January 10 th, Meteor will kick-start 2006 with the strongest Meteor campaign ever to hit Irish TV screens as the latest Pay As You Go advertising is launched.

As part of the launch of a multi million euro campaign to kick start 2006 and ensure continued strong growth, the latest Meteor commercial will appear on TV screens every 15 minutes during the period 6:00pm to 11:00pm next Tuesday.

The new Pre Pay advertising, featuring the latest escapades of the popular Meteor guys and girls, will appear every 15 minutes across all key channels including RTE1, RTE 2, TV3, Sky One, E4 and MTV, essentially ensuring that all other mobile competitors are virtually taken off air for the entire evening.

Over 150 advertising spots have been booked for the launch and of those many are peak spots, including slots in the ad breaks of popular programmes including the new series of "Desperate Housewives" and "The Apprentice". It also includes spots in the ever-popular soap breaks for "Emmerdale", "Fair City" and "Eastenders". Other big shows include "Joey", "The Simpsons" and the return of "Celebrity Big Brother" and TV3's movie of the night "Romeo Must Die".

This will be Meteor's biggest advertising launch to date ensuring that 2006 gets off to a strong start. The new offer will merge the best of 2005, 5c Calls and Free Text, into a powerful combination for 2006. The new Pay As You Go promotion will allow Meteor customers to swap from 5c calls to Free Text, easily and as often as they like, allowing them to decide which deal best suits their needs.

Additional TV advertising will follow in the coming weeks detailing new Bill Pay offers, which include extra Meteor-to-Meteor minutes or Free Texts. A customer signing up to Bill Pay 400 (for €60 a month) will now receive, on top of the 400 inclusive minutes, the choice of 200 additional Meteor-to-Meteor minutes or 200 Free Texts every month for 12 months.

Alongside the new TV advertising each of the promotions will also be supported by new radio, outdoor, press and cinema and online campaigns.

With a customer base that has doubled to over 500,000 customers in the past year this significant investment and confident start to 2006 marks Meteor's commitment to ensuring real competition in the mobile market and underlines Meteor's ongoing promise to provide great service at competitive prices.
