Today, 31st May, Meteor officially announced that they have become the Official Mobile Supplier to the 2006 Special Olympics Ireland Games, taking place in Belfast from 21st to the 25th June.

Meteor will provide the mobile requirements in the build up to and for the duration of the 2006 Special Olympics Ireland Games ensuring that the organisers of the Games stay connected and in touch at all times.

We are delighted to become the Official Mobile Supplier to the 2006 Special Olympics Ireland Games and we wish all of the athletes, coaches, organisers, volunteers and supporters the very best in what promises to be an enjoyable and exciting event."

He added,"At Meteor we believe that the longstanding support to people with a learning disability and the activities undertaken by Special Olympics Ireland are invaluable and we are delighted to play our part in ensuring this continues."

Athletes from each of the 32 counties will participate in the 2006 Special Olympics Ireland Games. The Games which give athletes the highest level of Special Olympics competition in Ireland, will commence with the Opening Ceremony in the Odyssey Arena on Wednesday 21st June and competitions will continue until Sunday 25th. Over 2,000 athletes from throughout Ireland will take part in 12 sports and Motor Activities Training Programme in 11 different venues throughout Belfast and Antrim. Over 5,500 volunteers will work at the Games.
