The countdown to the highly anticipated Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2008 is on, with only 5 weeks left for the public to cast their VOTE. Public voting in eight key categories closes on Sunday 10th February with the Awards taking place in the RDS on Friday 15th February.

 

Fans can cast their vote by texting ‘VOTE' to 085-7114444 for a list of keywords and categories.* Online voting can be accessed by visiting www.meteor.ie, where a full list of nominees and categories is also available. Music fans can vote for short-listed nominees in eight categories, including a brand new category for 2008, Best Regional DJ:

  • - Best Irish Band
  • - Best Irish Male
  • - Best Irish Female
  • - Best Irish Pop Act
  • - Best Irish Album
  • - Best Irish Live Performance

 

Meteor has already received thousands of votes from enthusiastic fans, voting for their favourite act to win! With time running out, now is the time to let your fingers do the voting to ensure your favourite band or artist walks away with an award.

This year's host is Dara O'Briain who will be joined by a high calibre of artists from the music industry and various celebrities to celebrate the best in music, both home grown and international. The most anticipated TV event on the Irish music calendar will be aired on Saturday 16th February on RTE Two.
