METEOR IRELAND MUSIC AWARDS MAKE AN ADDITION TO THE PERFORMING LINE UP WITH PADDY CASEY AND SCOUTING FOR GIRLS
With just over two weeks to go until this years Meteor Ireland Music Awards we are delighted to announce that critically acclaimed Irish Artist Paddy Casey and of the moment London Indie Pop Trio Scouting For Girls, have just been confirmed to perform at this years Meteors.
Already announced to perform are, "The Cake Sale" featuring Gary Lightbody and Lisa Hannigan, Sinead O'Connor and Republic of Loose will join together for a show stopping duet, The Saw Doctors, British singer/songwriter Tom Baxter, The Coronas and Cathy Davey, Pop Royalty Westlife, Shayne Ward and Boyzone, making this years line up the best yet!
Paddy Casey has sold in excess of 220,000 albums, (14 x platinum) making him one of the most successful musicians performing in Ireland today. The past four years have seen Paddy headlining shows at the RDS and Dublin Castle, performing in front of thousands at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and supporting U2 in Europe and in Croke Park. In fact, Paddy's Living and U2's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb were the best selling albums in Ireland in 2004, outselling all other albums, both domestic and international. Addicted To Company (Part 1) the much-anticipated third studio album from Paddy Casey was released on 07 September 2007 to massive critical acclaim and commercial success. The album is the follow up to Paddy's hugely successful albums Living and Amen (So Be It). The first single taken from the album is Addicted To Company and is out now.
Scouting For Girls, are a band that offer a unique take on life. Their warmth, wit and healthy dose of bittersweet nostalgia, make an individual stand for the young at heart. Using unforgettable melodies and weaving lyricism, they chronicle lost youth and broken hearts. Not since Supergrass has a band managed to make such joyous, moving and vivid music with the onus on the fun and pitfalls of everyday life.
2007 was a good year for Scouting For Girls, they were signed to Epic UK (a division of Sony BMG) in February and released their self titled debut album in September, which has now achieved gold status and is currently at Number 1 in the UK Charts. The lead single ‘She's So Lovely' kept hold of its top ten spot in the charts for six weeks. The band's current single ‘Elvis Ain't Dead' is out now.Formed in 2005 by friends Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard. They chose the name Scouting for Girls as a play on words on the renowned Scouting for Boys handbook.

Tickets for the Meteor Ireland Music Awards are on sale now, available from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide. Tickets cost €40 each including booking fee. Tickets are limited to four per person. This is strictly an over 16 year's event, 16 - 18 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
