Meteor Delivers Nokia Messaging to Customers
Introducting an Easy to Use & Affordable Email and Internet Offering to all Meteor Customers
Meteor and Nokia today announced that Meteor will offer Nokia Messaging, Nokia’s consumer always-on mobile email access service to subcribers from Wednesday, 16th December 2009. Meteor mobile customers will have access to Nokia Messaging, which supports all leading global consumer email solutions such as Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Ovi Mail, as well as local internet and email service providers. Meteor customers currently subcribing to a Meteor data plan can avail of the messaging service free of charge, as part of their existing plan.

Nokia Messaging has a simple, functional interface that offers an intuitive,experience that enables users to configure email easily from their mobile phone. It has access to serveral email accounts, immediate and continuous synchronisation between the phone and email server, and the capability to optimise ‘over the air’ data transmissionThanks to push email functionality, the Nokia Messaging email service channels new messages immediately and automatically to the user’s mobile phone, at the same time as it efficiently forwards ‘heavier’ emails and attachments, thereby avoiding downloading heavy content to the mobile phone, so ensuring more efficient management of data transmissions.
Using the service, Meteor Customers will be to mobilise up to 10 personal email accounts on one device whilst benefitting from real-time messaging and are able to read, send, forward and reply to emails, view subfolders, download and read attachments and also attach files to emails in real time.
Meteor subscribers can use Nokia Messaging from 6th December onwards on Nokia S60 handsets including the Nokia 5530, Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97, Nokia E71, Nokia E63 and Nokia N95 8GB. For many other models the necessary software can be downloaded from xxx (TBC -Meteor link) or https://email.nokia.com.
