Travel tips
Get the most from your mobile when you visit, with these handy hints
- Make staying in touch with those at home easier by storing your most commonly used numbers in their international format. Simply prefix the number with ‘+' and the international country code, then remove the first digit from the area code. For example a Central London code, 0207, will now become +44207. You can continue to use the number in this format when you go home - as the format in which the number is stored in has no impact on the call cost.
- As Meteor have agreements in place with many networks around the world, you might find that we can bring you better roaming rates than you'll find elsewhere. Check with your home network before you travel to see if they have a roaming agreement with us.
- You may also want to check that your handset will work here in Ireland. Meteor operates on a dual 900 and 1800 GSM network.
Making calls when you're in Ireland.
To make a call within the Republic of Ireland, simply dial the area code followed by the number you wish to call.
To call home - or anywhere else internationally - dial the international country code, then remove the first digit from the area code.
