Free text alerts from Facebook to your phone
You can now get alerts by text telling you when someone updates their status, uploads a photo of themselves (or you!) or sends you a friend request. The alerts are sent as soon as someone changes something on Facebook so you’ll be able to keep on top of what is going on. You choose the alerts you want to receive.
In the Facebook text message alert, you will get a short preview of what’s happening on Facebook with a clickable link straight to your Facebook page to see more and reply if you want to.
To use this service, simply go to your Facebook profile on your laptop or PC, click into Account on the top right hand side of the page, then Account Settings and then Mobile. Choose Ireland from the drop down list.
You can then register for Facebook Text Messages and choose what alerts you want to receive
