Voicemail
Voicemail allows callers to leave you messages whenever your phone is engaged, when you can't get to your phone, when you are outside of the coverage area or when your phone is switched off.
Getting set up
To use voicemail you need to set up your free mailbox. To do this freetext the word MAIL to 50102
The first time you access your Meteor voice mailbox, the system will ask you to set a password. You should choose a unique 4 - 6 digit number that is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. After you change your password, you will not have to enter it when you dial 171 from your mobile phone, but you will need to do it if you want to check your messages from any other phone.
You can change your password and greeting at any time after you have set them up. Simply dial 171 listen to any new messages that you may have and the system will take you to the main menu. To change your greeting, select option 3 and to to change your password, select option 4.
And remember do not share your voicemail password!

Listen to your Voicemail
To listen to your messages dial 171 from your mobile phone. You can store up to 25 messages in your voice mailbox. New messages will stay in your mailbox for up to 17 days and you can save a message for up to 14 days after you listened to it.

Your personal greeting
You can record any greeting that you like. Hearing your voice on the greeting lets callers know that they have reached the right person.
You've got mail
We'll let you know when you have messages in your mailbox. Each time someone leaves you a message we'll send you a text alert.
In addition anytime that there are messages that you have not listened to in your mailbox, we will turn on the message waiting indicator (a small symbol that looks like a reel of tape) in the upper left hand corner of your phone screen.
If the indicator is on, you have new messages; if it is off you don't have new messages, it's that easy!
Call back - press 6
Your Meteor voicemail service allows you to return a call by just pressing a button. At any time during or after message you can press 6 and be connected to the person who left you that message. When you are done, just press the * key and return to your voice mailbox to listen to the next message or just hang up.
To delete a message press 7
To save a message press 9
Changing your password and greeting
- You can change your password and greeting after you have set them up.
- Dial 171 Listen to any new messages that you may have and the system will take you to the main menu
- To change your greeting, select option 3
- To change your password, select option 4
Accessing your messages from another phone
You can access your mailbox from another phone by dialling the digit 5 in front of your phone number. For example, if your mobile number is 085 712 3456, you would dial +353 85 5 712 3456. Remember to include the country code if you are calling from outside the Republic of Ireland.
When you access your mailbox from another phone, press the hash (#) key once to hear your greeting start. The system will then ask you to enter your password followed by the hash (#) key. You can then access your mailbox messages as usual.
