Terms and Conditions “Any Network text*” and “Meteor to Meteor talk and text*”

Any Network text

  • The following terms and conditions of the Meteor "Any Network text*" Promotion ("the Promotion") are in addition to Meteor's general terms and conditions of service and Meteor's Fair Usage Policy ("FUP") available at www.meteor.ie/misc/termsofuse.html. All constitute a legally binding agreement between Meteor ("we/us", "Meteor") and the Customer ("you/the Customer"). In the event of any conflict relating to the operation of the Promotion, the terms and conditions below shall prevail.
  • The Promotion is available only to Meteor Pay As You Go ("PAYG") Customers on the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan ("Eligible Customers") who contact and register with Meteor between 15th July '08 and 31st March 2010 ("Promotion Period").
  • Eligible Customers must contact and register, through designated and specified channels, with Meteor for the Promotion and top-up by €20 or more in one go after so registering, during the Promotion Period to receive free SMS texts to any Irish mobile or landline number For Life. Eligible Customers must then top-up by €20 or more, in one go, every 30 days and maintain a positive credit balance to continue to receive the free SMS under the Promotion. You should allow a maximum of up to one working day after topping up for the Promotion to take effect.
  • The Promotion is also subject to further fair use conditions, which Meteor may rely on to withdraw, restrict, limit or terminate the Promotion from a Eligible Customer. These fair use conditions are such that an Eligible Customer's usage of the Promotion shall not exceed 5000 texts per month. Any usage above same, or outside of the terms of this Promotion, will be charged at standard rates.
  • This Promotion does not apply when you are roaming outside the Republic of Ireland (ROI) or for international texts and only applies to Short Message Service (SMS) texts. Multimedia Message Service (MMS) messages are expressly excluded from the scope of this Promotion. SMS to landlines must be to normal landline numbers capable of receiving SMS messages, SMS to premium rate or non-standard numbers do not apply.
  • Existing Meteor customers can only avail of the Promotion if they move to the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan during the Promotion Period and then subscribe to this Promotion, however you acknowledge that you will lose any original discounts or offers under your former Meteor Tariff Plan once you move to the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan. Additionally, you will lose the benefits and entitlement to the Promotion should you move at any time back to your original Meteor Tariff Plan or any other Meteor Tariff Plan other than Anytime Choice (provided it is an existing plan).
  • By signing up to the Promotion, you consent to Meteor contacting you by SMS to notify you of successful or unsuccessful registrations, activations, updates, changes in relation to this Promotion for as long as they are eligible and remain on the Promotion. Meteor does not warrant or represent that it shall send such SMS messages and you acknowledge that it is not bound to do so and that it is your responsibility to ensure you remain eligible for the Promotion.
  • Eligible Customers acknowledge that the various promotions available on the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan that can be registered for are mutually exclusive and that by availing of any one, they shall not, at the same time, be able to avail of the other promotions.  Customers can switch, however, to any other promotion under this Tariff Plan by duly contacting and registering their change with Meteor and then topping-up their account in accordance with the requirements of such other promotion. Upon effecting any different promotion, an Eligible Customers' entitlement to this Promotion shall automatically cease and the new promotion shall be effected after topping-up in accordance with the terms of such promotion.
  • Meteor reserves the right to vary or amend these terms and conditions or withdraw the Promotion in whole or in part at any time, where in its opinion there is a valid commercial, technical or operational reason, or where you are in breach of any of Meteor's terms and conditions or Meteor's FUP.
  • Meteor shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising from the Promotion or for termination, withdrawal or amending the Promotion.

You should allow a maximum of up to one working day after topping up for the Promotion to take effect.
  • The Promotion is also subject to further fair use conditions, which Meteor may rely on to withdraw, restrict, limit or terminate the Promotion from an Eligible Customer. These fair use conditions are such that an Eligible Customer's usage of the Promotion shall not exceed5000 minutes of calls per month and/or 5000 texts per month and that Meteor to Meteor calls are free for a maximum duration of 60 minutes. Any usage above same, or outside of the terms of this Promotion, will be charged at standard rates (i.e. if a Meteor to Meteor call runs for 63 minutes, the first 60 minutes of the call will be free and the remaining 3 minutes will be charged at the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan rates).
  • This Promotion does not apply when you are roaming outside the Republic of Ireland (ROI) or for international calls or texts and only applies to Short Message Service (SMS) texts. Multimedia Message Service (MMS) messages are expressly excluded from the scope of this Promotion. This promotion also does not apply to any video calls made, either inside or outside ROI.
  • Existing Meteor customers can only avail of the Promotion if they move to the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan during the Promotion Period and then subscribe to this Promotion, however you acknowledge that you will lose any original discounts or offers under your former Meteor Tariff Plan once you move to the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan.
