And we're not talking pink rubbery luncheon meat. This kind of Spam is "Marketing material received by you from a third party that you have no previous contact with or you have opted out of receiving that specific information from"

Basically it's stuff you probably don't want.

How can Meteor help?

If you receive an SMS Spam message simply forward it to 50002 and we we'll try stop it for everyone. This may involve Meteor working with organisations such as the Data Protection Commission and Regtel, to ensure that SMS Spam activity is stopped.

This 50002 Anti-Spam alert service is free and is for used by Meteor customers only.

Please note that by forwarding the message to 50002, we're afraid it does not mean that you will not receive messages of this type again. You will need to opt out by contacting the provider detailed in the message until we stop them.
