Meteor SafeSurf Terms and Conditions

Meteor SafeSurf Terms and Conditions (they're very very long and very very legal, but the main point to note is that we can't guarantee all inappropriate content will be blocked, though we'll do our best)

1. The following terms and conditions form part of Meteor's SafeSurf Service ("the Service"). Meteor's general terms and conditions, to which you have also agreed to, and Meteor's Fair Use Policy ("FUP") available at www.meteor.ie/misc/termsofuse.html, combined with these terms below constitute a legally binding agreement between Meteor ("we/us", "Meteor") and the Customer ("you/the Customer") for the use of the Service.  All capitalised terms herein (unless otherwise defined) shall have whatever meaning is ascribed to them in the general terms and conditions.

2. Any Meteor Customer or any Authorised Person (this means for business customers their named contact on the account, or for any customers with a ‘dual access account', such person named on the account) may ‘opt-in' or ‘opt-out' from this Service at any time either by calling Customer Care  or through the My Meteor website at www.mymeteor.ie.

3. The Service involves the utilisation of filter controls over mobile Internet access via Meteor's network. Content and URLs (web site addresses) are categorised or assessed by Meteor for their suitability and, dependant on same, access to them may or may not be restricted by the Service.

4. Meteor will use all reasonable endeavours to control access as stipulated and should one of the filters fail to prevent access to a restricted site, we will do our best to rectify this as soon as possible.

5. Meteor will not be liable or responsible to you (or to any Authorised Person) for any content or URL that is not restricted by the Service. In addition, Meteor will not be liable or responsible for any failure in the Service that may arise as a result of any power disruption or technical fault.

6. You are expressly advised that access to any or all content or URLs may be restricted. Meteor reserves the right to amend, from time to time and at its' sole discretion, the content or URLs that are unrestricted or restricted. Such changes may occur without notice to customers.

If you are restricted access to any or all content or URLs, you will receive an "Access Denied" notification from the Service.  Standard Data charges apply to download and receive this SafeSurf notification. Meteor's standard Data charges are available at http://www.meteor.ie/payg_calls.html

7. If you have any concerns regarding any content or the categorisation of any site (including any site that you operate) queries should, in the first instance, be referred to Meteor Customer Care.

8. Customers who have a ‘dual access account' (and any Authorised Person) are expressly made aware that either they or their Authorised Person can opt-in or opt-out of this Service at any time and Meteor shall not be responsible in any way for complying with the instructions of either of such persons.

9. Customers who use attempt to use SafeSurf whilst using a proxy, e.g. Opera Mini Browser, may have their entire Data service blocked until such time as they revert back to using the standard browser on the device.

10. Regardless of this Service, Customers are reminded that certain sites, which are illegal or otherwise inappropriate and contrary to the FUP of Meteor, may be blocked completely and that the list of such sites may be updated from time to time. This is in keeping with the terms and conditions applicable for the use of the Data services.

11. Meteor reserves the right to vary or amend these terms and conditions of the Service in whole or part at any time, where in its opinion there is a valid commercial, technical or operational reason.  Save for changes under clauses 6 or 10 above, you will be given reasonable prior notice of any changes to the Service, or its terms and conditions, by the posting of same on the Meteor website www.meteor.ie at least fourteen (14) days before they take effect. Please continually check our website for updates to these terms and conditions, as your continued use of this Service will be taken as acceptance of any such future changes.
