Signal
How can I tell what network type I'm on when I’m using Broadband To Go?
The network you are on will be indicated on the bottom left-hand corner of the Broadband To Go Manager screen.
How can I improve my signal?
Our mobile broadband network is fast and most people will experience speeds in excess of 2 Mbps. Because mobile broadband uses a radio signal, the speed you will get depends on several factors like your signal strength, your location from the nearest transmitter, the construction of your building and weather conditions. If you find that you need to improve your download speed, you can try changing your location within your house, for e.g. moving upstairs or moving to a window location as signal strength can be hampered by thickness of walls.
Why can’t I connect to the Internet?
If you are having problems connecting to the internet:-
- Make sure your PC has finished starting up before plugging your device into the USB port
- Make sure your device is plugged into the USB port correctly so that it can be detected
- Make sure your SIM card has been inserted correctly into the device. Try re-inserting your SIM card to ensure that it is securely in place.
- Make sure your antivirus software or firewall is not interfering with connection. You may need to switch it off when installing the BBTG device or you have to 'allow' the software to connect to the internet when prompted.
- Make sure that you are connected to the right network.
- Make sure that you have sufficient coverage by checking the no. of bars on the signal bar which is located in the bottom left handside corner of the Broadband To Go Manager Screen.

What happens if I exceed the 7.5GB allowance provided by my 30 Day Pass?
If you go over the 7.5 GB allowance provided by your 30 Day Pass, you will automatically revert to a Day Pass rate of €2.99, covering you for 500 MB of data per day. Of course this will only be the case as long as you have enough credit in your account to cover the Day Pass rate.

I can connect and browse the internet but I find response times too slow when I am playing games. Is there way I can improve this?
Games take up more internet bandwidth so it best to make sure that your device is located in a place of good coverage, for e.g. try placing it on a window ledge instead of placing near a wall. Also, make sure you are not located in area where there is a large number of WiFi networks as this may also affect performance. When you are playing games, you should try to connect over the USB instead of WiFi connection.
