Terms and Conditions of the Meteor BlackBerry® PAYG (Pay As You Go) Service

PAYG (Pay As You Go) Service

  1. The following terms and conditions of the Meteor BlackBerry® PAYG Service (“the Service”) are in addition to the terms and conditions of the Meteor service and any other applicable Meteor terms and conditions. In the event of any conflict these terms and conditions will prevail. Registration for the Service constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. The Service is only available to Meteor PAYG customers who use a Blackberry device ("Customer(s)") except customers who are on the free internet and talk offer.
  3. The Service allows use of the Blackberry® Internet Service (“BIS”) which provides access to BlackBerry® supported data services including email, external websites, BlackBerry Messenger, social networking apps and instant messaging. The Service does not include the BlackBerry® Enterprise Service (“BES”) and Meteor may bar or restrict any usage of BES by the Customer.
  4. A 30 days free trial is open to all BlackBerry® subscribers availing of the add on for the first time upon SMS opt in. This trial is per subscriber and cannot be reapplied.
  5. The charge for the Service is a monthly charge of €9.99 (the ‘Charge’).
  6. Customers can register for the Service by sending ‘My blackberry’ to short code 50104, by contacting Meteor Customer Care or through MyMeteor.ie. Once the Customer has topped up by a sufficient amount to cover the Charge, or if the Customer is already sufficiently topped up, the Customer will receive a text confirming that the Charge has been taken from their credit and that the Service is available to the Customer.
  7. The Charge will be automatically deducted from the Customer’s credit on day thirty (30) of each month. A reminder to ensure sufficient credit is available on the Customer’s account will be sent to Customers prior to day 30.
  8. If the Customer does not have adequate credit to pay the Charge on day 30, the Service will not be available to the Customer.
  9. Once the Customer tops up to a sufficient amount to cover the Charge, the Service will automatically become available to the Customer and the relevant monthly period will commence on the date the Customer re-enters the Service.
  10. The Charge applies in respect of all data transmitted or received using the Service to a limit of 1GB. If the Customer exceeds this limit, any internet or data usage will be charged in accordance with the Customer’s tariff plan, where relevant and otherwise in accordance with Meteor’s standard data rates.
  11. The BlackBerry® browser icon or any specific application browser icon loaded on the Customer’s Device must be used to access the internet to ensure data usage is taken out of the data allowance under the Service. A chargeable session under the Service starts when a Customer first connects to the Service and ends when a customer disconnects from the Service.
  12. The Charge and data limit do not include data usage when roaming. Meteor’s standard data roaming rates and relevant terms and conditions will apply to any such usage. The Service does not include VoIP or data sharing and any such usage may be charged for in accordance with Meteor’s applicable data rates.
  13. In order to disable the Service the Customer may text ‘Stop Blackberry’ or ‘Stop My Blackberry’ to short code 50104. Customers may also contact Meteor Customer Care to request removal from the Service. The Service will be disabled immediately once a request to disable the Service is received by a Customer. Customers will not receive a refund of charges already paid in advance for the 30 day period in which the request to disable the Service is made.
  14. In addition to these terms and conditions, RIM’s standard terms and conditions associated with the use of BlackBerry® from Meteor and the BlackBerry® Internet Service and other associated products will also apply to use of the Services.
  15. Meteor makes no representation or warranty and accepts no liability in relation of performance of BIS.
  16. BlackBerry®, RIM®, Research In Motion®, SureType®, SurePress™ and related trademarks, names and logos are the property of Research In Motion Limited and are registered and/or used in the U.S. and countries around the world, under license from Research In Motion Limited.
  17. Meteor reserves the right to vary or withdraw in whole or in part these terms and conditions or the Service generally or in respect of an individual customer at any time without further notice.
