To get your IOU, you must have topped up within the last 3 months.

How do I opt in?
Freetext ‘IOU2’ to 50104 to avail of the €2 IOU credit. The next time you top up we’ll deduct the IOU from your credit and a 20c service charge.
Freetext ‘IOU4’ to 50104 to avail of the €4 IOU credit. The next time you top up we’ll deduct the IOU from your credit and a 30c service charge.
Please note you can only opt into IOU by text message. This service is not available through MyMeteor or customer care or any retail stores.
How does IOU work?
We add your requested amount to your account so if you started with €0, and ask for €4, your new balance will be €4.
Can I borrow a €2 and a €4 IOU?
No, you can only avail of one IOU between top ups.
How much does it cost to use the IOU?
It costs 20c to avail of €2 IOU or 30c to avail of €4 IOU. You can only avail of one IOU between top ups.
Also –the IOU works abroad! Bear in mind -opting into an IOU while roaming is charged at the same rate for sending a text message in the country you’re travelling in.
What happens when I top up?
The next time you top up we’ll deduct the IOU you used plus the Service charge.
(Meteor – If you’re availing of a top up offer, your offer will activate first, then we’ll take the credit and charge for the IOU from your phone. For example – if you borrowed the €2 IOU and only used €1 of it we’ll debit €1.20 - €1 for the credit you used, 20c for the charge of using IOU).
How often can I use the IOU?
You can use the IOU once between top ups.
How long does it take for the IOU to activate?
The IOU activates instantly. We’ll send you a text to let you know when you can start using it.
We will also send you a text to a let you know when we have debited your balance for the IOU service.
I received a text message advising my request was unsuccessful why was this?
You may not have met the criteria for using IOU. To use IOU you will need to:
-Be a Pay as You Go customer on our network.
-Have topped up in the last three months.
-Made three chargeable calls /SMS's in the last 3 months.
-Have topped up since using your last IOU. The IOU can only be used once between top ups.
Will the IOU work while roaming?
Yes. However bear in mind opting into an IOU while roaming is charged at the same rate for sending a text message in the country you’re travelling in.

Remember – you can use our top up direct service while roaming too!
Can I cancel my IOU request?
No, it’s not possible to cancel your request. When you send the text to avail of the IOU the service is automatically added to your account
Will I receive a text to say when the IOU’s been added on my phone?
Yes – as soon as the IOU credit has been added to your account we’ll let you know!
